Sofia Carregha, actress and co-producer for the film Duplicity, shares with us her thoughts and experiences while working on this film.

1. Why do you think “Duplicity” is a story that needs to be told?

Because even though the conversation about immigrants being people too, is already happening. I feel like we need that perspective from a personal experience to tell our stories.

2. What were the challenges that you faced when creating this project?

Since it was my sister, Regina, and I who organized the pre-production, with the help of Sooki and Taha. And we were also the lead characters, a part of me wished that I had dedicated more time analyzing the script... it's a good thing that the characters were based on us.

3. What was your favorite moment during the entire process of creating this project?

I think that would be the shoot days, especially when we filmed at the deli. Walking on the street with the group, bonding, being up to date with the shot list. We called our parents and told them how we were going with the production and I feel that's when it finally hit me how happy I was to be a part of this team and this story.

4. What are the different things that you learned after having done this project?

That producing a project is way harder than I had expected, and much more expensive haha. Also, that money doesn't buy talent.

5. What’s your favorite line/scene from the script and why?

The planning of the revenge against Cuchurrumin, DEFINITELY. The lights, the rhythm, the blocking, everything! I just love it!

 6. Is there any other project that you are currently working on or would like to work on in the future?

Well I was part of a couple of films last winter. Beautiful Blue and Royalty: The Knowing, that will be coming out this Spring, so be on the lookout for the release dates!
