Raul Munoz’ Relationship with La Madriguera

La Madriguera is one of the last plays that Mx. Munoz produced before the pandemic hit. They share with us the journey that they have had with the play from pre-pandemic times to the present.

La Madriguera or Rabbit Hole, by David Lindsay-Abaire, is the 2007 Pulitzer Prize Winner in Drama. The play follows the life of Becca and Howie Corbett. Becca and Howie are married and they have everything that they could ever want until a dreadful accident changes their entire world. Due to this accident, the event creates a painful rift between the married couple. Rabbit Hole explores love and comfort during the darkest of times and also the hope for a better tomorrow.

“La Madriguera was a show that I had a strong connection to when I first watched it when I was younger. I saw this production many years ago in Mexico City and that show just stuck out to me even as the years passed by. When my partners from Playhouse Entertainment talked to me about producing this show once more for the Mexican audience, I immediately said yes. Now that some time has passed from the first time I saw this show, all the more the script’s themes resonated with me.” Mx. Munoz shares.

Recently, Margarita Sanz, who played the lead role of Nat in La Madriguera was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Play at the Metro Awards. “The Metro Awards represent and celebrate the best in theater and performance in Mexico City. I am proud that Margarita got this. She deserves it.” Munoz said.

We hope that La Madriguera gets to open and perform once more when things start to open up.
